Athletic Therapy in Oshawa
Expert care for sports and orthopedic injuries — from acute injury management to a confident return to play, led by our Certified Athletic Therapist.
What is athletic therapy?
Certified Athletic Therapists (CAT(C)) are specialists in the prevention, assessment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries — the same hands-on care you see on the sidelines of professional sport. Athletic therapy follows the sports-medicine model, with a strong focus on functional recovery and getting you back to work, sport and life safely.
You don’t have to be an athlete to benefit. Our athletic therapist treats active adults and everyday injuries alongside our physiotherapy team, so your care is coordinated and complete.
Injuries we treat
- Sprains, strains and muscle tears
- Ligament injuries (ACL, MCL, ankle)
- Tendonitis and overuse injuries
- Knee, ankle and shoulder injuries
- Concussion management
- Post-fracture and post-surgical reconditioning
Our approach
Your plan is built around your sport, goals and the demands of your body, and may include:
- Functional movement assessment and injury diagnosis
- Hands-on manual therapy
- Taping and bracing
- Progressive strengthening and reconditioning
- Return-to-play testing and criteria
- Injury-prevention and performance guidance
